Location: Boise, ID
An innovative, 40 year old geotechnical corporation is currently seeking an experienced controller to join their Boise, Idaho office. This position will direct the overall accounting activities and will assist in the development and administration of financial plans, policies, accounting practices and procedures, and budgeting.  This position reports to the CEO of the corporation and will work closely with senior leadership and management.

Position responsibilities include:
  • Oversee the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports.
  • Oversee the activities of the accounts payable department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, cash control, core payroll processing, approving outgoing check runs, wire transfers and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
  • Oversee the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, collections, etc.
  • Assure corporate income tax compliance for timely completion of all corporate income tax returns
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value
  • Prepare and present financial reports and financial status of the firm
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports for managers.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Supervise financial staff.
  • Perform financial modeling and analysis.
  • Maintain fixed asset inventory.
  • Manage year-end audit processes and tax reporting.
Qualified candidates will have the following:
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to develop, read, and interpret financial documents
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, required
  • 5 years + experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller or Accounting manager with at least 2 years of supervisory experience, required
  • CPA, CMA or CA, preferred
  • Advanced proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Proficiency with Accounting Software
  • Familiarity with US GAAP
  • Experience with cash management, fixed assets, budget to actual analysis, and month end and year end close
  • Strong client service orientation
  • Experience in a consulting or engineering environment, preferred
