Sales Manager, Industrial Sector

Location: San Jose, CA
An energetic and motivated communication technology company is seeking a sales manager for their Industrial sector. The organization is a world leader in platform software for the internet of things, serving the markets for intelligent buildings, smart city, energy information systems, data center, and government applications. We invent and manufacture technologies that address some of the world's toughest challenges linked to global macro trends like energy efficiency, clean energy generation, safety and security, globalization and customer productivity.
 
The sales manager will initiate contact with new leads and follow-up on sales meetings and teleconferences, meet sales objectives and targets at profitable rates, move prospects through the discovery and proof-of-concept phases, and meet established sales goals and quota per the annual plan objectives. They will develop and execute strategies and sales tactics in the following areas: territory planning, outbound lead generation, relationship development, pricing, negotiations, closing, and managing contracts. The candidate will be required to diligently track all customer interactions in our CRM system and maintain disciplined sales processes and forecasts.
 
Responsibilities:
  •  Develop and implement effective sales strategies
  • Lead nationwide sales team members to achieve sales targets
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in customer accounts
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the customer by developing deep relationships with both end-users of the product and C-level executives
  • Negotiate and close agreements
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts
  • Perform research and identify new customers and new market opportunities
  • Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with client needs
  • Liaise with marketing and product development to ensure brand consistency
  • Maintain knowledge of new products and ensure sales team members are up to date
  • Maintain a high level of relevant technical and industry knowledge and ensure team members are up to date
 
Essential Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years’ experience managing sales teams
  • Experience managing a high performing sales team
  • Knowledge of CRM software
  • Ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics
  • Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and team management skills
  • Analytical skills and problem solving attitude
  • Ability to travel as needed
