VP of Medical/ Pharma Sales

An energetic and motivated communication technology company is seeking a Vice President of Sales for their Medical/ Pharmaceutical sector. The organization is a world leader in platform software for the internet of things, serving the markets for intelligent buildings, smart city, energy information systems, data center, and government applications. We invent and manufacture technologies that address some of the world's toughest challenges linked to global macro trends like energy efficiency, clean energy generation, safety and security, globalization and customer productivity.
 
This opportunity will be primarily responsible for the leadership, development, and growth of a dynamic team which will support growth strategy and commercial initiatives. Successful candidates will be commercially-minded sales leaders with track records of success in North America using both direct and distribution sales models. An executive in this position must focus on customer expectation, proactively manage issues and opportunities, and strive for continuous improvement leading to improved results.  Moderate to heavy travel is required with regular visits to key customers.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Work in partnership with marketing and product line owners to develop and execute sales strategies
  • Forecast orders and revenue projections on a monthly basis
  • Manage distribution channels throughout North America
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders relevant to the business line
  • Coordinate and lead new product launches to ensure success and broad market penetration
  • Serve as a member of the senior leadership team
  • Create ‘best of class’ territory sales manager, key account manager, and distributor sales representative network through continual training on current and upcoming products
  • Direct territory sales and inside sales managers
  • Develop and manager KPIs, sales funnels, sales analysis tools and other reports as necessary to effectively manager performance in relation to monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
Essential qualifications include:
  • A high level of technical and product expertise required with the ability to lead and support a product sales team
  • Intimate knowledge of channel, sales, and service organization required
  • Proven leadership skills in building an early stage, high growth, commercial organization and supporting processes
  • Demonstrated ability in strategic planning and implementation in existing markets and penetration, entrance strategy, and execution into high growth markets
  • Exceptional negotiation, collaboration and influencing skills
  • Experience working within a multi-national company with a large matrix organization
  • Ability to create and direct strategy while understanding and driving detail as a hands-on leader
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills
  • Fact based, analytical thinker with demonstrated ability to thrive in data-driven , process-oriented environment
  • Respected leader with the ability to invest and develop themselves and their team
Education requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field Bachelor’s degree in business or technical and 10+ years’ experience   OR
  • Master’s degree in business or technical field and 8+ years’ experience including 4+ years’ experience managing people
