What are we looking for?
A Project Superintendent who will be is responsible for the supervision, organization, planning, and scheduling of the physical execution of the work and the leadership and management of the field forces.  In this capacity, the Project Superintendent directs the work of Morris’ direct forces and those of the subcontractors including coordination of subcontracts, drawings and specifications.  Includes maintaining and creating project schedules, daily diaries and organizing work force, field related cost control, budgets and equipment. 
 
What will you do?
As the Project Superintendent you will be responsible for maintaining professional and productive relationships with the Owner and the Architect as well as effective coordination with Morris’ staff and executives.  You will promote the interests of Morris and its clients in all matters.  You are also responsible for safety and must implement the policies of the Company vigorously and successfully.  The appearance of the project site reflects the image of the Company:  clean, organized, and business-like.  
 
‘Day in the Life’ / Duties:
  • This position requires approximately 90% travel  throughout the Western US (CA, WA, TX, OK, AZ)
  • Organizes project site properly including plans, files and project binders and keeps project office clean.
  • Keeps project clean from debris and ensures that all material set onsite is organized and properly stored.
  • Completes three week look-aheads weekly and distributes to subs for execution.
  • Maintains project schedule end date by utilizing milestones and critical path management.  Is responsible for all initial and subsequent contact with subcontractors to ensure the installation dates are met. 
  • Completes daily reports and photos for proper documentation      
  • Holds Weekly Foreman meetings to review schedules and Safety Topics
  • Completes Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) Safety sheets for all work that may be considered a high safety risk.    
  • Properly supervises subcontractors to ensure that all plans and specifications are met.   
  • Works with project management staff to ensure timely delivery of all materials.
  • Properly coordinates with all owner vendors for timely install        
  • Ensures that all work put in place meets Morris, Inc’s quality control standards for a minimal punch list. 
  • Properly completes all punch list, training, and certificate of Occupancy as required in the owner contract.
  • Maintains a proper as-built set for the duration of the project.
What do we require?
  • 10-15 year of supervising projects independently.
  • Ability to direct estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, and construction functions.
  • Project experience in managing multiple, simultaneous projects of various building types.
  • Strong working knowledge of various computer systems.
  • Word processing, spreadsheet, and scheduling software.
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems and be fully versed in job cost accounting.
  • Able to create initial project schedules and is able to analyze project schedule impacts.
  • Uphold high level of professionalism.
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Reports directly to the Operations Manager who may or may not be regularly located on site.
