What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Robotic Plasma Operator. The right candidate will be self-motivated, able to work unsupervised, be highly organized, have basic computer knowledge, and be 100% committed to whatever it takes to get the job done right. Knowledge in this area is always helpful but is not required as on the job training is available. Specific duties include but are not limited to the day to day operation of the machine to produce required quotas of processed steel for the fabrication shop on multiple jobs. Must be able to read and understand blueprints, have a basic mechanical knowledge to perform some small repairs, ability to operate a variety of forklifts, previous fabrication experience is preferred as this will aid the candidate in knowing what the finished material needs to look like after it has been completed.
What will you do?
.  Primarily operate an up to 300 amp, CNC style, high definition Plasma mounted on a Robotic arm.
.  Process a variety of W beams, C channel, Square tubing, and any other materials as needed.
.  Occasionally operate forklifts to load and unload the required steel for the machine.
.  Perform small repairs to any and all supporting machinery required for successful daily operation.
.  Carry out specific daily, monthly, and other required machine maintenance schedules.
.  Keep the work station and Robot containment areas clean and organized.   
.  Cooperate with and assist all other Departmental operators.
.  On occasion work in other areas of the main shop and yard when necessary.
.  Any other duties and responsibilities as instructed by a Supervisor and/or Management.

.  Perform all the duties of this job skilfully and safely.
.  Read, write, and understand the English language.
.  Communicate clearly with management, supervisors, and fellow employees.
.  Perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole        numbers, decimals, fractions, and metric conversions as they apply to the Robot operations.
.  The ability to receive instruction and work with all team members.
.  Time management and planning skills specifically as they apply to all job deadlines.
.  Make recommendations for process improvements.
.  Safety Management.
Special requirements:
.  Punctuality and Reliability – This position may require early a.m. start times.
.  Must be able to lift weights up to 50 lbs unassisted frequently and occasionally up to 75 lbs unassisted.
.  Must be able to safely operate all job required hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
.  Basic Computer knowledge is a must to operate this particular machine.
**This is a full time position.
.  American Steel operation hours are from 5:00am to midnight Monday-Friday (50 hrs shifts).
**Weekend work will be required as needed to fulfill contract and job obligations.
